Continued Growth, Relocation And Rebrand For Aberdeen Events Company

Due to continued organic growth, the team behind Scotland’s rated trades website, TradesAdvisor.com, and North Scotland’s largest home improvement event, the Scottish Home Show, today (Tuesday, February 11th, 2014) announces its relocation to larger premises on Aberdeen’s South Mount Street.

The recently re-branded company, which is now known as Xcite Media Ltd, continues to add to its ever-expanding portfolio of exhibitions by bringing dedicated children’s event, the Scottish Kids Show, to the AECC in June this year. It has also further expanded its team, with the appointment of sales manager, Lesley Mitchell.

Lesley’s skilled background in the sector, including sales and event roles at The Carmelite Hotel, Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce and The Copthorne Hotel, means she is ideally placed to assist with the company’s development.

Darren Ross, Operations Director, comments, “Over just four short years, we have built up exhibitions which we are really proud of, and that have grabbed the attention of both the business trade and the general public.

“We were beginning to outgrow our existing offices in the city’s Spa Street, and having considered our long term goals for the company it also felt like the right time to move premises. We are delighted to welcome Lesley to our expanding team, who is a perfect fit for us as we move to launch our third event, The Scottish Kids Show. We are confident that with our staff, client and exhibitors’ continued support we will maintain our progress towards £1million turnover this financial year-end.”

TradesAdvisor.com is due to host its second annual Trades Awards at Pittodrie Football Stadium on Thursday June 5th, 2014, held to showcase the knowledge, experience and integrity of the region’s tradespeople.

The inaugural Scottish Kids Show, to be held on 28th and 29th June, 2014 at the AECC, will showcase everything from pre-natal products and services for mums and dads to be, as well as toys, gadgets, gift ideas and advice for children right through their development – from the young toddler, right up to 16 years old.

The Scottish Home Show will also return to the AECC on 26-28th September 2014, for its third year, showcasing the best products and design associated with the home improvements market.
