North East Trades Awards 2015 Winners Announced at Prestigious Awards Ceremony
A handful of Scotland’s most talented tradespeople and trades businesses were recognised last night (Friday 12 June 2015) at the 2015 North East Trade Awards. 330 guests attended the dinner and award ceremony held at the Richard Donald Stand at Aberdeen Football Club to celebrate the cream of the crop in the Northeast trades industry.
A record number of applications were received for the 2015 awards, which showcase the knowledge, experience and integrity of the areas’ trades businesses and the people behind them. Last year Stewart Milne of the Stewart Milne Group – this year’s awards lead sponsor – picked up Outstanding Contribution award, while last night this prestigious accolade went to Jane Bruce of John G. Darren Ross, Director at Xcite Media Ltd says, “It was a privilege to attend last night’s award ceremony and witness the vast talent right here in the north east of Scotland. The judging panel had an incredibly tough time choosing the winners this year, as the standard of the finalists across all categories was exceptional. Our winners are a credit to the industry and highlight the excellent work being done in the trades sector.
“One particular winner that deserves special mention is Jane Bruce of John G. Baird Ltd in Peterhead, who collected the Outstanding Contribution award. After the death of her father, Jane – a qualified primary school teacher – gave up her job to step into his shoes heading up the business. Jane not only took hold of the reigns of the business overnight with little experience, but she also grew the business’ client base, implemented a strong focus on health and safety, invested heavily into staff training and upheld the role of apprentices in the future of her business.
“All of us here at the Trades Awards and Xcite Media, would like to thank each and every applicant for taking the time to show us why you are making such a difference within the trade community.”
Neil Thomson, Construction Director at Stewart Milne Homes says, ‘With the ‘North East Trades Awards 2015’ now in its third year, it has once again proved to be the most exciting event yet and is the ideal opportunity for tradespeople and trades businesses to showcase their knowledge and experience, share their customer reviews and experiences, and at the same time receive the deserved recognition and reward for all their efforts. This is a hugely exciting time to be working within the construction industry, as many successful businesses, including Stewart Milne Group, are currently recruiting skilled trades as part of their ongoing growth plans. The standard of entries this year has been exceptionally high from a range of very talented individuals and businesses, and we thank all those who applied and would like to congratulate the winners and everyone else who took the time to help make it such a great success.”
The Trades Awards are organised and run by Xcite Media Ltd, the company behind The Scottish Home Show and rated Scotland’s online rated tradesman directory TradesAdvisor.com.
