The Trades Awards North Scotland recognises the achievements of those working in the Northeast of Scotland Trades industry. We have a range of categories which cover all aspects of trades as well as all business sizes. Nomination forms can be downloaded through the link at the bottom of the page and all nominations must be received by 29 May 2020. Winners of the 2020 Awards will be announced at a black-tie ceremony on 9 October 2020.
Nominations for the Home/Building Improvement Award should provide evidence of consistent customer satisfaction; continually striving to complete work to a high standard and on time; as well as innovative design and building techniques.
Sustainability in Construction
Whether this is through the process, products, or innovative new ways of working, Sustainability in Construction Award nominees should highlight a clear understanding of the impact construction has on the environment, and what the individual or business is doing to address this.
Best New Business
The Best New Business Award is open to all tradespeople or trades companies launched within the past 24 months (at time of entering).
Outstanding Customer Service
The Outstanding Customer Service Award is open to trades businesses and home improvement businesses that can demonstrate excellent levels of customer service using evidence and testimonials from the past 12 months.
Excellence in Health and Safety
The Excellence in Health and Safety Award is open to any individual or business that excels in health and safety and can demonstrate this using examples and evidence from the past 24 months.
Apprentice of the Year
The Apprentice of the Year Award is open to any tradesmen or trades business to nominate an apprentice who currently works for them, and has been in place for the past 12 months.
The Rising Star Award is open to individuals working within all sections of the construction industry, age 30 and under, who have excelled in the profession, exceeding expectations of colleagues, clients and industry peers. The individual can n,ominate themselves or another party can nominate them, but they must be based in the North East of Scotland.
Tradesperson of the Year
The Tradesperson of The Year Award allows a customer, contractor or client to nominate a person who has excelled in their trade, while carrying out work on their premises, and has exceeded expectations.
Site Manager of the Year
The Site Manager of the Year Award is open to any individual or business to nominate a Site Manager who currently works for them, and has been in place for the past 12 months.
Above and Beyond
The Above and Beyond Award will recognise the workplace contribution of an individual, regardless of their role or the size of the organisation. The award goes to a person who has brought significant improvements to their workplace, the wider industry or the community.
Construction Project of the Year
The Construction Project of the Year Award is open to all construction projects that have taken place within the northeast of Scotland. Projects should demonstrate excellent teamwork between all parties (client, project manager, supply chain); outstanding customer satisfaction; examples of innovation and best practice, as well as showing a reduced environmental impact.
Best Small Trades Business
The Best Small Trades Business Award is open to all trades businesses that have demonstrated exemplary skills in business. The nomination should provide evidence of what sets this business apart from competitors; how challenges of running a company of this size were overcome (e.g. outsourcing vs in-house services to reduce overheads); as well as a brief outline business plan with short-term and medium-term goals.
Best Large Trades Business
The Best Large Trades Business Award is open to all trades businesses that have shown exemplary skills in business. The nomination should provide evidence of what sets this business apart from competitors; how challenges of running a company of this size were overcome (e.g. outsourcing vs in-house services to reduce overheads); as well as a brief outline business plan with short-term and medium-term goals.
The Outstanding Contribution Award recognises an individual who has made a significant impact in the trades industry.
