Finalist Spotlight: Ronnie Falconer, Stewart Milne
Ronnie Falconer from Stewart Milne Homes has been nominated in the Site Manager of the Year category at this year’s Trades Awards. We spoke to Ronnie about this recognition and what this means to him.
Congratulations Ronnie! How does it feel to be a finalist for Site Manager of the Year?
“Becoming a finalist in the “Site Manager of the Year” category is a huge honour and gives me a great sense of recognition. There are plenty of excellent managers out there, so to be chosen as a finalist is a fantastic achievement. The site manager’s role requires a great deal of commitment and can, at times, be stressful, so to achieve this level of recognition is incredibly rewarding.”
What are your key responsibilities?
“As a site manager, I have a large amount of responsibilities, but the key areas are to ensure the health and safety of our operatives at all stages of the build on site at all times. To ensure all building, technical and NHBC standards are met producing a high quality product within timescale and budget. To ensure our customers receive the highest level of service from initial meeting to following up with them after moving in to their new home.”
What is your primary goal with each project?
“I firmly believe that if you create and maintain a safe, tidy, well-organised site, the standard of quality produced will be high, operatives will be highly motivated and develop a great work ethic. This creates a site where operatives will want to work, it creates a great learning environment for apprentices and assistants and ultimately delivers a product which all involved are proud of and delights our customers.”
And finally, how would it feel to take home the trophy?
“To win this award would be an incredible accolade in my career and amazing recognition for what I and the Stewart Milne Group do.”
