Finalist Spotlight: Darren Ferguson, Stewart Milne
For his exemplary site management at Stewart Milne’s Moyness Park, Blairgowrie and Dunnottar Park developments, Darren Ferguson has been nominated for Site Manager of the Year at this year’s Trades Awards. We spoke to him about how it feels to be nominated and his primary goal with each site he manages.
Congratulations Darren! How does it feel to be nominated for Site Manager of the Year?
“It’s a great honour to be up for this award. It’s recognition for all the hard work and extra effort I put in on a daily basis. To make the final of the Trade Awards is a great achievement and gives the acknowledgment that your efforts and the way you apply yourself to your work are recognised.
“Winning would be the proudest and biggest achievement in my professional career without question. To win on the night being in such a tough category in front of friends and peers would be such a proud achievement. Then to tell my family I won – it would be a huge wow moment.”
What are your key responsibilities as Site Manager?
“My key responsibilities are to provide a safe, tidy, organised, well-run environment on my development for the site team to work in, and of course to provide a high quality product for the customers who invest in our product to be their homes. My primary goal is to provide an excellent home for our customers while providing a great working environment for the site team and sub-contractors alike whilst completing the project on time on budget.”
