‘Xcite’ment For Local Company As Scottish Home Show and Trades Awards Named As Finalists In Scottish Event Awards

Xcite Media, the team behind Scotland’s rated trades website, TradesAdvisor.com, the Trades Awards, Scottish Kids Show and North Scotland’s largest home improvement event, the Scottish Home Show, has been announced as a finalist in two categories in The Drum’s coveted Scottish Event Awards 2014.

The team will compete against strong competition from others shortlisted such as Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Glasgow and Edinburgh’s Christmas 2013, in both the Best Awards Scheme – for the Trades Awards 2013, and Best Large Event – for the Scottish Home Show 2013.

Darren Ross, Director of the Xcite Media comments, “We were hugely lucky to scoop last years ‘Best Exhibition’ category at the Scottish Event Awards for the Scottish Home Show. To have been nominated for not one, but two awards is an exceptional achievement for the team at Xcite, especially when one of the awards shortlisting is for the inaugural Trades Awards last year. The Scottish Home Show event is now in its 3rd year this September and continues to grow year-on-year.

“To be nominated alongside such fantastic large scale events as Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Glasgow is just unbelievable. We also make sure we continue to give back to the community, nominating the STV Charity Appeal as our chosen charity and fundraising beneficiary of this year’s events. We are all keeping our fingers crossed for a great result, and would like to wish our competition the best of luck.”

The award winners will be revealed at a glittering awards ceremony being held on Wednesday 8th October 2014 at the Marriott Hotel, Glasgow.
